Rich Parker, Branch Operations Manager
For Rich, working at Piedmont Plastics is more than just a job—it’s about the connections he’s built along the way. Originally from Pittsburgh, he’s embraced the warmer weather and southern hospitality, which he describes as a genuine and welcoming part of his experience.
When asked what he likes about working at Piedmont, Rich says, "Other than the better weather down here (I’m from Pittsburgh and a golfer), it would have to be the great relationships that have formed and continue to form, both professional and personal.”
We’re grateful for Rich’s dedication, innovative spirit, and the positivity he brings to the Piedmont team. Here’s to many more years of success and inspiration!
Kim Sparks, Administrative Specialist - Accounting
Kim joined Piedmont in February 2015 as an Administrative Assistant and was quickly promoted to Branch Administrator. For the past three years, she has excelled in her current role as an Administrative Specialist for the Accounting Department.
“The part I enjoy the most about my job is problem-solving. It’s very satisfying to feel you’ve contributed by using your skills and abilities, working with other team members to achieve the best possible outcome for the company.”
For Kim, the people at Piedmont are what truly set the company apart. “The camaraderie and family atmosphere generated by the employees, along with the support and understanding from management, when you’re just having that kind of day, is next to none,” she shares.
Kim’s dedication, problem-solving expertise, and positive outlook have been an essential part of our success. We’re proud to have her on our team and look forward to many more years together!
Vern Posey, Warehouse Manager
Throughout his tenure at Piedmont, Vern has embraced the opportunity to learn and grow within the company. His journey began as a temporary warehouse worker, and through hard work, he moved to Saw Operator and eventually assumed his current role as Warehouse Manager.
Reflecting on his experience, Vern shares, “I love how controlled our environment is. With it being only three of us in the warehouse, it's not chaotic at all, and it’s very family-oriented.”
For Vern, the sense of community extends beyond the warehouse walls. Even after former warehouse managers have retired, Vern keeps in touch, which is a true testament to the strong, lasting connections formed at Piedmont.
Vern’s commitment, optimism, and unwavering support of the Piedmont culture have truly left a lasting impression, and we look forward to many more successful years ahead!
Courtney Young, Learning and Organizational Development Specialist
Courtney’s time at Piedmont Plastics has been a dynamic and rewarding journey, where her role as a Learning and Organizational Development Specialist allows her to combine her many talents to help others.
"Watching leaders grow and teams thrive because of something I built? Chef’s kiss. Plus, let's be real—there’s something satisfying about using corporate buzzwords in a meaningful way. Reminds me of when I was a teacher. Every day is a new puzzle, and while some pieces are shaped like spreadsheets and emails, others come with heartwarming 'aha!' moments. I get to coach, mentor, and occasionally pretend my PowerPoint slides are a TED Talk. And best of all, I work with brilliant people who turn challenges into triumphs—making my job as fulfilling as it is fun."
For Courtney, what truly makes Piedmont special is the genuine sense of family and care throughout the company.
“It’s not just a catchy phrase on a mission statement—it’s lived out every day. You’re constantly reminded that people come first, and it shows in how everyone is always willing to lend a hand, share knowledge, or simply say thank you for the work you do. Getting into the plastics industry was a leap into the unknown for me—who knew that plastics could be such a dynamic and impactful career? Yet, here I am, fully immersed in an industry that touches almost every aspect of modern life. The helpful and respectful culture at Piedmont made that transition not just smooth, but rewarding. Whether it’s through collaborative problem-solving or heartfelt recognition of successes big and small, Piedmont Plastics has a way of making everyone feel valued and supported. It’s more than a job—it’s a community where people thrive together."
Courtney’s energy, creativity, and enthusiasm shine through in everything she does, and we’re excited to see how she continues to help shape the future of Piedmont!
Anthony Johnson, Warehouse Associate
Known for his great attitude, Anthony is always willing to help and do whatever it takes to get the job done, all while maintaining a smile on his face. A hard worker who consistently goes above and beyond, Anthony has contributed to Piedmont in countless ways, from building custom skids to creating new and improved methods for packaging and organizing in the warehouse.
Above all, Anthony values the Piedmont Experience as the most rewarding aspect of his job.
“I feel we really hold this value here. I enjoy the people I work with every day, the fun that we have, and the way we communicate with one another.”
For Anthony, it’s the sense of collaboration and family that makes Piedmont such an appealing place to work.
“At the end of the day, we all have families to take care of and bills to pay—we look out for and take care of one another, cover for each other, and help each other," Anthony says. "I am so thankful Piedmont gives me the opportunities they do!”
Anthony’s cheerfulness, loyalty, and drive make him a highly-respected member of our team. We’re incredibly proud to have him as part of the Piedmont family and look forward to celebrating his continued success!
